Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-31

This page is provided in English for clarity and legal consistency, regardless of the language selected above.

1. What We Collect

Festival Greetings is a database-free service. The only personal input is the name you optionally provide to build a greeting link (e.g. ?name=YourName). That name:

  • is never stored server-side or in a database — it exists only in the URL you generate and share;
  • is sanitized and length-limited before being displayed back to you or a recipient;
  • is not used for profiling, marketing, or any purpose beyond rendering your greeting.

We keep two aggregate, non-personal counters (total greetings viewed, total shares) in plain files on the server — these store counts only, never names or identifiers.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage strictly for functionality, not tracking:

  • Language preference (festival_lang cookie) — remembers the language you select.
  • Theme and music preference (browser local storage) — remembers dark/light mode and whether background music is on.

None of these are used to identify you personally or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Advertising — Monetag

This site is configured to work with Monetag as its advertising network. Advertising is currently disabled in the site configuration; if enabled in the future, Monetag and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to:

  • serve and measure the performance of ads shown on this site;
  • limit how many times you see the same ad;
  • where permitted, personalize ads based on your browsing activity across sites.

Monetag operates independently of Festival Greetings and maintains its own privacy policy describing its data practices, which we encourage you to review directly on Monetag's website. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the cookies or tracking technologies set by Monetag or its advertising partners.

Your Choices

  • You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
  • Many ad networks participate in industry opt-out programs (e.g. the Digital Advertising Alliance or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance's Your Online Choices) that let you limit interest-based advertising.
  • Mobile users can typically limit ad tracking through their device's privacy settings.

4. Third-Party Share Platforms

When you use a share button (WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Twitter/X, SMS, Email), you are redirected to that platform's own service, which has its own privacy policy governing any data you submit there. We do not receive or store what you send through those platforms.

5. Children's Privacy

This Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Data Security

Because no personal data is stored in a database, there is minimal personal data at rest to protect. Aggregate counters and configuration files are stored on the web server and are not publicly accessible directly (see our server configuration, which blocks direct access to /config/ and /data/).

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly if advertising configuration changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.

8. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests regarding your data, can be sent to contact@example.com.

Made with ❤️ for everyone celebrating Independence Day.
